Our Pastor

Kelly Huenink came to Chapel of the Plains in June of 2022. She had been a long time visitor of the church through their partnership in her mission work in East Africa. They continue to support her trips to Africa each year. 

Her background is in the Evangelical Free Church, but denominations are not of importance to her. She simply believes in Bible based teaching and the three irrefutable beliefs: Love God, love others as we love ourselves, and make disciples...The Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission. 

She has been making disciples through serving in middle school ministry in the 90's, leading college ministry for ten years (2011-2021), various Bible studies, and missions which began in 2010. She is the director of Missions to Uganda for a nearby Colorado church. God gave her a heart to love others and she is grateful that he gifted her in that way. 

This is her first position as a pastor and she is enjoying the experience, despite the challenges. 

She has a background in agriculture, which makes her a perfect fit for this rural community. 

She cares deeply about what happens in the community day-after-day versus what happens in church on Sundays. The believers who attend are there to better equip themselves to be disciple makers in their home, town, community organizations, the state, nation and the world.
